We have had quite a productive and enjoyable weekend here. Yesterday was spent getting a few bits for our trip incl the important suntan lotion! I also managed to get some long shorts so there will be less of my nobbly knees on show frightening the children lol!
On the way back from Plymouth we popped into endsleigh garden centre (I love this place!!!) - we both came out buzzing with ideas for the veg plot. Funds are limited at the moment so we are limited as to how much we can do at a time and working out all the cheapest ways of doings things but we have a plan.
Today has seen us putting the plan into action. We have dug out and removed all the bark that was on the area and we (Russ did the hard digging and I did the easy edges) dug over the plot. I did not realize what thick clay soil we have but we know how to improve this and are postitive with getting some results this year (weather permitting).
After the hard work another trip to Endsleigh was required for compost and manure. We also picked up one of these:

I can put some seeds I want to pot up in there and keep the tomato & pepper plants in there until it is just a little warmer (maybe even after we come back but hopefully not). We are going to try and grow these upside down this year hung off the hooks on the fence. They do this in Disney and it seems to work really well so we shall see. Finally we picked up a rhubarb plant - I love rhubarb and it will be nice next year being able to pick our own rather than having to head to my parents to get it.
Well this has turned into a mamouth gardening post so I better sign off. Back to work tomorrow after being off sick for the majority of the week but it I only have 2 weeks left before 3 weeks off - how exciting!!!!!

I love the plans you've got for your veg patch - hope the seeds get planted and start shooting soon.
