Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable start to 2010.

Thought I would post this rare picture of Ben smiling (rather than him giving me the usual "oh Mummy not more pictures!" look) to welcome in the new year.
As predicted we were in bed and asleep by 10 last night and didn't know anything until Ben decided he needed to go outside at 3.30 (he is definitely good practice for disturbed nights!!!) and then nothing until 9 this morning - I think I was tired lol. Mind you it may have something to do with spending 5 hours at the hospital with Mum yesterday for a review of her wrist and then the unexpected pre-med for her op when she gets back from Spain- yes she has to have another op on her wrist but hopefully it will prevent future problems.
Today Russ cooked a roast and Mum and Dad came around to enjoy it with us. They had been to friends for a NYE party and not got to bed until 2.30 so they were rather tired so it was a short and sober visit for them today.

For christmas I had the SU flight of the butterfly stamp set and matching punch from Mum and Dad and so used it to make some thank you cards on Boxing Day. It is the first cards I have made other than my christmas cards since the summer. Falling pregnant seemed to zap my crafting mojo but I think it could be on its way back :)

Finally I promised I would post a pick of whatever tree we ended up with. Luckily the treetastrophe ended happily and our new 7ft slim tree looked lovely and we will miss it when it comes down next week. You can't see the lights really in the picture but we have some static white lights and then some tinkling coloured lights. All the ornaments are in a red, gold and glass theme except for the silver bells. The glittery star on top was a bargin from argos which we adapted to ensure it stood upright. I don't think the picture really does it justice but I am not sure they do on any tree.
Well this is the end of my first post of 2010. I hope to be able to post regularly on here about baking, crafting and obviously the bump which is what I think I will be spending my time doing.
